Erik Bakkom, Principal Engineer at Maul Foster & Alongi, is a civil engineer licensed in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Mr. Bakkom has 21 years of experience in environmental engineering, with expertise in the areas of sediment remediation, brownfield/industrial site cleanup, and solid and hazardous waste management and facility design. Mr. Bakkom works with technical teams that include the varied skills of engineers, scientists, planners, ecologists, and regulatory specialists. Erik has led the design and construction efforts for complex remediation projects (upland, groundwater, riverbank, and sediment) and landfill facilities in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. His design philosophy is to creatively look at the comprehensive system and how pieces interact in order to simplify the design and determine the most efficient and constructible solution.
