Maria-Elena Giner is the Commissioner for the United States Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission. Through her employment with the Border Environment Cooperation Commission and the North American Development Bank, she has over 25 years of experience in working with communities along the US-Mexico border. In her previous positions, Commissioner Giner led the development and financing of $9 billion in environmental infrastructure — including water — benefiting about 100 communities and over 10 million residents. She has worked with US and Mexican federal and state agencies in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and the six Mexican border states.
