In June 2021, Carly Jerla was named the US Bureau of Reclamation’s (Reclamation’s) Senior Water Resources Program Manager responsible for overseeing the Department of Interior’s efforts to develop the post-2026 management framework for the Colorado River Basin. Carly Jerla’s career with Reclamation began in 2005 while a graduate student at the University of Colorado’s Center for Advanced Decision Support for Water and Environmental Systems. There she led a Modeling and Research Team responsible for research and development of modeling applications and decision support for water operations and planning in the Colorado River Basin. She worked intensively on the development of the Colorado River 2007 Interim Guidelines, the 2012 Colorado River Basin Water Study, and the 2019 Colorado River Drought Contingency Plan (DCP), among other projects. Ms. Jerla holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil and environmental engineering and engineering and public policy from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Colorado.
