Steven C. Moore helped establish the Idaho Legal Services Indian Law Unit before joining the Native American Rights Fund in 1983 as a staff attorney. Moore has advocated for federal Indian
reserved water rights for the Nez Perce Tribe, the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, the Tule River Tribe, and the Kickapoo Tribe. He has defended Native rights regarding sacred places, the
religious use of peyote, the rights of Native prisoners, and in repatriation, among other matters. Moore is a 1979 graduate of the University of Colorado Law School.
