Alan S. Kolok is an emeritus professor of toxicology at the University of Idaho. He has published over 100 scientific papers regarding the fate, transport, and biological effects of chemicals, with a focus on pesticides. His first book, Modern Poisons: A Brief Introduction to Contemporary Toxicology, highlights some often-misunderstood fundamentals of toxicology. His second book, Generally Regarded as Safe, focusses on what Americans are getting wrong about chemical safety and how we can do better.
