Deirdre LaRochelle (née Brosnihan), PE, CFM, is a licensed Civil Engineer with deep expertise in green stormwater infrastructure and water resources engineering. She earned a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in 2004, followed by an M.S. in Hydrology and Water Resources from the University of Arizona’s College of Civil Engineering in 2006. After two years with the engineering firm Psomas, Deirdre joined the Pima County Regional Flood Control District in 2008, where she has led numerous capital improvement projects. Her work focuses on striking a balance between gray and green infrastructure to meet Pima County’s evolving needs. A champion for sustainable stormwater solutions, she has actively promoted deeper integration between the fields of Civil Engineering and Landscape Architecture. Deirdre was promoted in 2022 to Manager of Engineering and Landscape Architecture Division. She is a longtime leader in the American Society of Civil Engineers, receiving both the Arizona Civil Engineer Distinguished Service Award and President’s Award in 2018. Projects under her leadership have received multiple national awards.
