Author Description

Eliza Stokes has eight years of experience working at environmental non-profits in support of clean water, equitable transitions to renewable energy, forest preservation, and sustainable land planning—first in Western North Carolina, and for the last four years in Arizona. She is currently a Program Manager for Growing Water Smart at the Sonoran Institute where she supports local governments in three Western states and sister cities along the US-Mexico Border to ensure that land use planning efforts make the most strategic use of limited water resources. Eliza completed her Master’s in Public Policy with a concentration in Environmental & Water Policy at the University of Arizona in 2025.
