Gina Gilson

Author Description

Gina Gilson is a research scientist at the University of Arizona’s Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy. She is a human geographer with an interdisciplinary environmental science background. The goal of her research is to better understand the governance of natural resources, including how decisions are made, whose values are incorporated, and how diverse voices are heard. Her work on water justice spans international contexts, including the American West and Sub-Saharan Africa, where she has worked with organizations including the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the Global Water Partnership. She has been published in journals including Environmental Research Letters, Conservation & Society, and Journal of Development Studies. Her PhD from the University of Oxford focused on informal water vending in Kenya. She holds an M.S. in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management from the University of Oxford, and a B.S. in Biology and Environmental Science from Creighton University.
