EPA’s PREPARE Program: Funding Opportunity and Awards Announcement

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a $1.5 million investment in three organizations through the Promoting Readiness and Enhancing Proficiency to Advance Reporting and Data (PREPARED) program. This initiative aims to enhance the ability of grant recipients, particularly small, underserved, and Tribal communities, to generate and utilize data for evaluating program outcomes and making informed decisions.

The recent funding awarded will support projects aimed at building capacity in data dissemination, reporting, and evidence-building.

  • The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth will focus on evidence-based approaches for EPA and State Revolving Fund applicants and grantees.
  • Palmetto Futures will provide comprehensive support to community-based organizations in the Gullah Geechee Corridor.
  • The New Growth Innovation Network will equip potential recipients with the tools and skills needed to apply for and manage EPA grants.

The EPA is also seeking additional proposals to further support data and reporting capacity building in these communities. This commitment reflects a broader effort to promote environmental justice and ensure that all communities have the resources they need to thrive.
