Author Description
Sophia Borgias is an Assistant Professor in the School of Public Service at Boise State University. She is a human-environment geographer whose research and teaching focuses on water and environmental governance in the arid Americas. Dr. Borgias’ research has focused on conflict and cooperation surrounding rural-urban water transfers, Indigenous land and water rights, and hydropower development. Her most recent project examines the intersections of energy transitions and water justice in the Great Basin region of the US. She earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in Geography at the University of Arizona and holds a B.A. in International Studies and Spanish from the University of Oregon.
